Fourth Year and Running… CVEX Kids’ Track n’ Trail Fun Run
Saturday, August 25th, 2012, saw the fourth annual running of the CVEX Kids’ Track n’ Trail Fun Run.
It was a beautiful day for this run event which is co-organized by the Comox Valley Exhibition and the Comox Valley Road Runners. This event offers a safe, organized environment for kids to run.
The nervous excitement was felt in the older age group (Truffles). It may have been the smallest age group for the run, but those kids had a good understanding of what the prize was for first boy and girl of each age group. A midway pass for the day! They ran their 1500m course with determination and sheer will. Probably one of the most exciting finishes to date with a real “race” between the first competitors with sheer seconds between the two. Nice work!
The run is exciting in all age groups! The two younger groups had many excited and some nervous participants as it was possibly their first run event ever. Such a great opportunity for a family memory!
The winners this year were as follows; Marshmallows (5 and under) Danielle Kenny and Everett Burch Chicklets (6-9) Ben Prager and Caitlyn Burry, Truffles (10 and up) Sequoia Bridges and Andrew Perry. Good job to all the kids.
