Tuesday Track Work-outs
When? Tuesdays, 5pm (official group warm-up begins at 5:10 pm)
What? The Tuesday workouts are meant to be speed sessions. We welcome runners of all abilities and ages but you should be able to run at least 3km at a steady pace. We always have runners at many different speeds, so finding someone at your speed is usually quite easy to do. After a warm up on your own, we begin each session with a variety of drills and dynamics. We then will
do a longer workout of 5-6 km or a shorter workout of about 3 km for the less experienced, tapering or recovering runners. We will visit the trails, roads, hills, or stay on the track. There is lots of variety from one workout to the next, but always be prepared to work hard! Come and join us.
Where? Meet at the Comox Valley Sport Centre Track on Vanier Drive.
Why? My goal as a coach is to help prepare you for your racing goals, to help you with your fitness level, and to provide you with a workout that will challenge you, and that you will enjoy too. Each person comes to track for different reasons, but whatever your reason is for joining us; I hope that you come away from the workout with a sense of accomplishment. There is power in numbers! Having other runners to do speed sessions with is so much more enjoyable than doing it on your own!
