“I started running 38 years ago just to keep in shape.
I started doing a walk run and soon began running up to 5 kms.
I fell in love with running about 8 years later when a friend and I trained for a 13 km race in Prince George. I was hooked on the adrenaline I felt, the comrade among friends and the goals I achieved.
I completed my first half marathon in 2 hours and 6 minutes and I wanted more.
I trained the following year for a full marathon that I ran in Victoria and finished it in 4 hours and 39 mins and I was super happy.
I loved to run period. Soon after, I moved to Alberta and took up ultra training and completed about 7, 50 km races and 2 100 km races in Lethbridge AB, Edmonton, and Wyoming, and Oregon. I loved to travel to different places to run and meet new people.
I never stopped running half marathon’s either.
Last year I set a goal to get a better pace in the Victoria half and with the help of track Tuesday, I met my goal. I shaved off 6 mins from my previous time.
I love training with my friends from the CVRR and all that the group has to offer.
This year my goal is to finish the Squamish 50 with my friend Mo and enjoy the scenery and landscape around me.
I still love to run, period.”
